The idea of THE GREY BOOK DIRECTORY was conceived about 3 years ago by its current founder and CEO Nazir Noor Mahomed
Nazir has been in the corporate environment as accountant for over 20 years and have worked for companies such as Cadbury Schweppes, Sasol and more recently with Kagiso Media Limited as Group Financial Manager and also Chief Financial Officer of Kagiso Exhibitions – a subsidiary of Kagiso Media Ltd.
During his tenure at Kagiso Media, he became very frustrated with the
implementation of BEE within the group. This frustration was mainly
due to not being able to find BEE compliant companies (SME or Large business)
to procure products and services from. There was no repository of fully
compliant and certified BEE entities to access and as a result had to personally
ensure that entities he dealt with were BEE compliant or have began the
process of complying with the BEE act. As he was not able to find
new BEE compliant entities the philosophy of rotating suppliers also became
very frustrating. Furthermore, the concept of enterprise development could
not be fully implemented as he was unable to find fully compliant BEE SME
companies.
When he left the Kagiso Group, late 2007, to pursue his own business interest
in the SME segment, he realised that the same applies - in reverse. Fully
compliant and certified SME entities find it difficult to market their products
and services to corporate business and government.
Again there is no repository for these BEE compliant SME entities to advertise
and market their entities to the larger companies.
Hence, THE GREY BOOK DIRECTORY a database of fully compliant and certified
B-BBEE entities.
Feroze Kistan
Creative Director - Angelart
He will join the Management Team of The GREY BOOK DIRECTORY. Mr. Kistan is an experienced Graphic Designer / Web Designer and IT consultant. He ran his own company for the last 15 years or so and has the experience for a project of this magnitude. Mr. Kistan has been involved in advertising, for numerous newspapers and local telephone directories as well as company brochures and other advertising magazines. He does the origination and design from the creation of a logo to the final printed copy. He has been involved with The GREY BOOK DIRECTORY since concept inception about 18 months ago and fully understands the concept. He has produced numerous publications of high quality and his agreeing to join The GREY BOOK DIRECTORY'S Management Team is a major plus for the company.
Ms Rehana Rawat
Sales & Marketing
She successfully ran an after school Maths & English franchised programme called KUMON, which is the largest educational franchise in the world. She has been involved with Kumon for over 10 years. She has vast experience in the field of Administration, Sales & Marketing. Ms Rawat has been involved with The GREY BOOK DIRECTORY since concept inception about 18 months ago and fully understands the concept. She has agreed to join the Management Team of The GREY BOOK DIRECTORY.
Ms Aqeela Mahomed
Sales & Marketing
She successfully assisted Ms Rawat in her Kumon business. She has been involved with Kumon for over 10 years. She has vast experience in the field of Administration, Sales & Marketing. She has gained valuable experience as an HR Officer when she worked for a short period with Direct Axis – a call-centre based insurance sales house. She is currently studying Psychology on a part time basis and intends specialising in Industrial Psychology with a strong focus on Human Resources. Ms Mahomed has also been involved with The GREY BOOK DIRECTORY since concept inception about 18 months ago and fully understands the concept. She has agreed to join the Management Team of The GREY BOOK DIRECTORY.
